Where can I go to find emergency/short-term housing?

The Swedish Migration Agency provides housing for all Ukrainians who need it. On average, the search for housing lasts about a month, during which time you will live in one of the temporary accommodation centers. You cannot choose a region, you will be offered the housing that is available. It can be a separate apartment with its own kitchen, or it can be a room where you will share the kitchen with several other people, or a living space in which it is impossible to cook food and you will have to eat in the dining room.

You can also use the AirBnb mceclip0.png and Booking.com mceclip0.png platforms to find short term accommodations.

If I am staying with friends and family in the long term, what documents do I need to fill out to make it official? How can I obtain proof of residency?

When granted a residence permit you will receive a residence permit card. This card acts as proof of residency. When in contact with Swedish authorities a coordination number makes it easier. A coordination number is acquired through applying at the office of the Tax Agency unless given by the government at an earlier stage, for example when applying for a residence permit.
