People who apply for asylum or temporary refuge are accommodated in the facility of the Migration Office in Humennรฉ. Also, Slovakia offers the opportunity to stay in state facilities. How do I find long term housing?

If you are provided with private accommodation, the landlord has the opportunity to ask the municipality for a contribution for accommodation.

If I am staying with friends and family in the long term, what documents do I need to fill out to make it official? How can I obtain proof of residency?

No additional documents are required. If you change your address you should report it to the municipality office of your district.

You must provide the municipality with proof that you have been granted temporary refuge (the document marked DOฤŒASNร‰ รšTOฤŒISKO or ODรDENEC and a new proof of accommodation (e.g. an affidavit from the owner). The municipality will either record the change of address in the information system and issue you with a new residence document or record the change of address in the document you submit.
