Do I need passport/vaccination certificate/chip to enter the country with a pet?

According to the information of the State Production and Consumer Service of Ukraine mceclip0.png, from May 1, 2023, domestic animals can be imported into the territory of Romania only if the animal has a test result for the level of antibodies to the rabies virus. Thus, the animal must have:

  • a document confirming the identification of the animal using a microchip;
  • a document confirming that the animal is vaccinated against rabies (valid vaccination);
  • a document confirming that the animal has an up-to-date rabies antibody test result;
  • a valid veterinary certificate on the state of health of the animal (issued by the veterinary institutions of the State Production and Consumer Service).

Before traveling abroad with a pet, it is necessary to obtain a F-1 veterinary certificate from the state veterinary hospital, which is valid for 72 hours. You will find a list of institutions where it is possible to obtain the specified document in various regions in the telegram channel of the State Production and Consumer Service at the link mceclip0.png.
