Do I need passport/vaccination certificate/chip to enter the country with a pet?
Considering the emergency situation in Ukraine, the Ministry of Health has established exceptional measures to enter pets into EU with Ukrainian refugees. For movements of pets moving from Ukraine to Italy, Ukrainian citizen can give all information to the mail address UAemail@example.com.
Citizens should specify species and number of animals, ID documents of the animals (if possible), the name of the owner and the address of destination in Italy in order to provide information to the Competent Veterinary Services.
How can I get vaccination for my pet on the go?
The Italian National Association of Veterinarians (ANMVI) promotes free identification and rabies vaccination in favor of pets from Ukraine, in collaboration with Italian National Competent Authorities, as well as any other minimum requirements requested.

LAV activated its Local Offices in 22 Italian cities (Rome, Bologna, Modena, Genoa, Florence, Piacenza, Trento, Milan, Bergamo, Pontedega, Oltrepo’ Pavese, Verona, Ancona, Vicenza, Trieste, Perugia, Cagliari, Bolzano, Belluno, Novara, Verbania-Cusio-Ossola, and Cremona) to offer support to people arriving from Ukraine with accompanying animals. Contact them and they might help with food supply for your pet.
